

Gary Williams
Director of Bands
Mr. Williams is excited to return to his passion—teaching middle school band—as the new Director of Bands at Moseley Middle School. He brings over two decades of experience and a track record of excellence in music education.

Most recently, Mr. Williams served as Director of Bands at McKinney North High School, where the band consistently earned UIL Sweepstakes awards and advanced to the UIL State Marching Contest in 2023 and 2024. The band reached the State Finals in 2024, finishing 10th overall.
​
Before that, he was the Head Band Director at Cockrill Middle School in McKinney, TX. Under his leadership, the Cockrill Honors Band earned top honors at regional festivals and advanced to the TMEA Honor Band state level in 2015, 2017, and 2019. In 2020, they were named the TMEA CCC Honor Band. The program also performed at the Midwest Clinic in 2016 and received the prestigious Sudler Silver Cup from the John Philip Sousa Foundation in 2017.

Mr. Williams began his teaching career in Duncanville ISD, where he spent seven years assisting with the Duncanville High School Marching Band, including their 2002 UIL State Championship season.
​
He holds a Bachelor of Music Education from Texas A&M University–Commerce and was honored as “Teacher of the Year” at Cockrill Middle School in 2016.

Mr. Williams lives in McKinney with his wife, Brittney—also a band director—and their two children, Olivia and Joshua.
